Condolence & Memory Journal

What a blessing James was to us when he reached out to Danny and reconnected in his worst times during his cancer treatment. He lifted us both from despair and made Danny feel less alone. Thank you "Turtle" I know you are home now.

It's so hard to imagine this world without you. You have been a big brother for me, just as you are for Patsy. We have so many good memories of times gone by. You will be very very missed. But, we know there will be a reunion again someday in heaven where there will be no more pain, no more sickness, no more sorrow. I know you are there now with those loved ones that went ahead of you. Goodbye for now my brother. My love and prayers go out for Linda, Jimmy, Mandy, Sarah, & David, and all of their families that God will surround you all with Peace and Comfort as you get through these trying times.

I was invited by a friend to go to a luncheon with her and her ole classmates, which I knew none of them. I sat across from the only man that was there. He was very engaging with conversation. I heard one of the ladies mention the name zoetrope Nelson. I said oh yes he lived on the street off of Southfield. All of a sudden the man asked me if I meant Monroe St. I think that's what he said. Yes, his parents were Amos and Augie Nelson. He blurted Why are talking about my parents? Because Amos and my father were 1st cousins. He (Turtle- the ladies were calling him) said, Well hello 2nd cousin. He then told me he was Jim Nelson. We chit chatted as if we were the oldest of friends.
I'm so sorry of his passing for I was looking forward to getting to know him ever so much better. I liked him a lot. I understand how deeply you all miss him, for I also do. As some have written he was charismatic. My heart goes out to you all. God Bless You.
