The story of the "Flower Lady" enthralled Bill and I when we first moved to Harsens Island in '94. Then we met this wonderful, fun-filled lady on many an occasion thru the years. Sat w/ her @ a lot of Lions events. We kept her in prayers throughout the past years. Sending love, condolences. and hugs to Debbie, Mark and family. Bill and Debbie DeMunnik

She was a very kind and giving person. She was the perfect example of what it means to be selfless and kind hearted. I have many fond and happy memories going to visit her when I was young with my grandpa Pete and grandma Marilyn.

Arlene was a special lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. The gifts of living, lovely flowers to crews aboard ships of steel brightened the day and season for countless Great Lakes sailors. We appreciate Arlene's love and generosity. It truly was a privilege to know her. The spirit of "The Flower Lady" lives on in our hearts and memories.

The Trustees of Mariners' Church of Detroit send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Arlene Earl, "the flower lady of the Great Lakes." Her acts of kindness brought joy and much cheer to many sailors. By honoring them, they honored her with a salute of gratitude. Though she shall be missed, her warm generosity and spirit will live on in the hearts of the Great Lakes' mariners. May her family continue to live out her legacy for generations to come.

An incredible Woman who found her way into our hearts through her selfless service to the ships. On behalf of all Sailors who experienced viewing these Flowers at the Dinner tables and enjoying them while we couldn't be at home during the Holidays - and Father's Day . . . . THANK YOU! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Family.

You are finally able after a valiant fight to come back to your "Island Paradise" and live there in Heaven for eternity. Oh ! How you must have thought about and longed to be home with your ships. The ships and their Captains will never forget you, nor will we ! Lillian and Frog
